02 / USING THE RANKINGS
How to use this site
- Pick a category — Start with a ranking that matches your industry and brief type.
- Read the evidence — Each agency listing links to a full profile with campaigns, client references, and score breakdown. The ranking position is a starting point, not a final answer.
- Compare against your brief — Client Fit scores weight differently depending on your company stage. An agency right for a Series B may not suit a bootstrapped launch.
- Challenge the shortlist — Use the methodology page to understand what each score means, then verify the evidence against your own calls with the agencies.
03 / FIVE DIMENSIONS
How agencies are scored
01
Industry Depth
Does the agency have genuine presence in the category? Press coverage, trade relationships, and speaker credentials are weighted.
02
Campaign Proof
Can the agency show real results in comparable briefs? Case studies are verified for specificity, recency, and relevance.
03
Client Fit
Does the historical client roster match the buyer profile? Stage, geography, and category alignment are assessed separately.
04
Reputation
What do third-party signals say? Awards, press mentions, and peer citations that are independently verifiable count.
05
Transparency & Freshness
Is published information current and complete? Stale case studies and missing team details reduce this score.
04 / RESEARCH QUEUE
Upcoming rankings
The following categories are in active research and will be published when the available evidence reaches the minimum threshold: consumer PR agencies, healthcare PR agencies, financial services PR agencies, B2B technology PR agencies, and crypto and Web3 PR agencies.
Publication is not on a fixed schedule. A category ships when the evidence supports a defensible comparison. If your category is not listed, submit an agency and we will prioritise the research.
05 / PUBLISHING RULES
What it takes to be listed
- Every listed agency must clear a minimum evidence threshold before scoring begins.
- No agency pays for inclusion, a rank position, or a profile.
- Agencies can submit evidence for consideration. Submitted evidence is verified before it affects any score.
- Rankings are reviewed on a rolling basis. An agency’s position can change when new evidence emerges or existing evidence ages out.
- A category is only published when at least three agencies clear the minimum evidence threshold.
- Agencies under investigation for material misrepresentation are suspended from rankings pending resolution.
- Scores reflect the agency at the time of last review. Profiles older than 12 months are flagged as stale.
- Editorial corrections are published in the post history. Substantive changes to scoring criteria are announced as methodology updates.

06 / FREQUENTLY ASKED
Frequently asked questions
Do agencies pay to be ranked?
No. PR Agency Ranking does not accept payment for inclusion, rank positions, or profile upgrades. Every listed agency cleared an independent evidence threshold.
How often are rankings updated?
Rankings are reviewed on a rolling basis, not a fixed calendar. A ranking is updated when new evidence changes the comparison or when existing evidence ages out.
Can I submit an agency for consideration?
Yes. Use the agency submission form to flag an agency for research. Submitted evidence is verified before it affects any ranking or profile.
What if my industry is not listed?
Categories in active research are listed in the Research Queue above. Submitting an agency through the form is the fastest way to trigger research for an unlisted category.
How do I challenge a ranking position?
Contact the editorial desk with specific, verifiable evidence. We review all substantive challenges and publish corrections when warranted.
